If you find it hard to unwind, feel tense, anxious or are having difficulty falling asleep, try following this short guided relaxation.
This guided relaxation should help you to release tension from both the body and the mind. With practice you’ll hopefully find it easier to tune into what’s happening in the body, get in touch with your senses and let go of the distracting stream of thoughts that we can so easily get lost in.
As we become more focused on feeling rather than thinking, we develop a more refined awareness of the senses and become less ‘stuck in the mind’. Consequently the breath will flow more smoothly which assists the shift into the calming nervous system and helps us to naturally feel more at ease since the body can rest and recover and we feel more relaxed within ourselves.
