Soft Hatha Yoga Class Description
Allow yourself to wind down at the end of the day with a soft Hatha yoga class. In this class we move steadily, calmly and consciously through our practice. This will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and calm, ready for a good night’s sleep.
Breathing and movement are two of the best ways to change your internal state. By breathing and moving consciously we can shift from a state of activation or stress to one of presence and calm. The pace of the class gives time and space to connect inwardly so that you can move and breathe in a way that nurtures both body, mind and spirit.
In this 75 minute yoga class we’ll practice a variety of asanas (postures) to move, stretch and strengthen the body in many different ways. The focus is to allow the wisdom of the body to be heard and to guide or inform the movements and the breath so that we maintain a state of steadiness and ease. Following the asanas there is a yoga nidra (deep relaxation) to allow the energy of the practice to be absorbed into the whole system. In the final part of the class we do specific breathwork practices to regulate the nervous system and then finish with meditation.
The yoga class is suitable for all levels and beginners are welcome! All that’s needed is a basic level of fitness. The class is in English and/or French depending on participants.
